Transition to Independence Fellowships

ATTENTION: graduating doctoral students and current postdoctoral associates

The Department of Cancer Biology and the NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC) proudly announce postdoctoral training opportunities in a unique fellowship program entitled “Transition to Independence”. This program, based on the successful K99 award mechanism, provides two years of mentored, NCI-supported training in basic, translational, or clinical cancer research. The third year, supported by WFUBMC, offers a promotion to the instructor level and the associated freedom to pursue extramural grant support that will facilitate transition towards an independent, academic career in cancer research.
